Visiting Europe

Gasica and his son Sele recently visited us in Germany, and the excitement was great! We welcomed them at Frankfurt Airport on September 13th, with smiles all around. This wonderful trip was made possible by the generous support of friends from Germany, the US, and the Netherlands. During their visit, Gasica and Sele connected with several friends and gave numerous presentations together with Silas and Lea. One highlight was our trip to Bodelschwinghschule in Münster, where the students were eager to ask questions and learn about life in Zanzibar. They were particularly fascinated by the differences between their lives and those of the children in Zanzibar. On September 28th, Dreams for Kids e.V. held our very first major charity event, and it was a resounding success! It was heartwarming to see so many supporters come together, fostering new friendships. Not only did we enjoy a fantastic time, but we also raised an impressive €1,030. Additionally, we gathered €215 at the Studienseminar Osnabrück, and former volunteer Ida raised an amazing €1,500! Together, we are turning dreams for kids into reality. Thank you so much.

Campaign in Münster

Two events took place here. Firstly, a Christmas market was organized together with the Bodelschwingh school Münster. The pupils had spent many weeks ahead of the event making beautiful handicrans and had lots of fun selling their items for a good cause. A fantastic amount of 2500€ was collected. Thank you very much, dear Bodelschwingh school! As in the previous year, Silas was also invited to the Christmas party of the ‘Studienseminar Osnabrück’, where he was able to give a personal update on the projects of ZL4L. Once again, the indispensable supporters from the seminar managed to collect a fantastic sum of 1200€. We are incredibly grateful for your support!

Visiting Europe

Gasica came to Germany! It was the first time Gasica set foot on German ground and everyone was very excited. The trip was organized and planned for a long time by many supporters from Germany. On June 4, 2022, the time had finally come: Gasica landed at Frankfurt Airport and was warmly welcomed by Silas. It was a very special reunion! Over the following four weeks, he visited several friends and acquaintances in Germany and even the Netherlands, allowing him to expand his social network and tell people about his projects. He also stayed with the Schwabe family in Münster and Osnabrück for over a week. It was the first time that Gasica and the future founding team of Dream for Kids e. V. carried out fundraising events together. Gasica visited the Bodelschwinghschool in Münster, where Silas and Lea were working, and presented his project to the colleague. Everyone was very enthusiastic and the Bodelschwingh school was to remain another great supporter from then on. However, the team's biggest campaign was once again the ’Studienseminar Osnabrück’. Gasica gave a big presentation in front of around 100 people and there was a donation bazaar, the proceeds of which all went to the project. In total, 3622€ was raised for ZL4L during Gascia’s time in Münster and Osnabrück. What an incredible sum! It was also during this time that Dream for Kids was born. Silas and Gasica discussed how the support from abroad for ZL4L could be more centralized and structured in the future. They came to the decision: We need a non-profit association!

Christmas Donation

Our association had not been founded yet, but the first connections were established already. Silas was invited as a guest to the Christmas party at the ‘Studienseminar Osnabrück’, and was able to report on Zanzibar Learning 4 Life. Prior to this, the Studienseminar had raised money for Gasica and his projects through various fundraising campaigns in the weeks ahead of the Christmas party. The fantastic donation of 1384€ was handed over to Silas that day. It was the start of a great collaboration!
